Bio:

I am Tamael Talstag, a Tethyrian living in Waterdeep. On my 20th naming day, I now know that this is what Mystra meant for me to be. It wasn’t always so. When I was much younger, the mages of Waterdeep amazed me. The wizards and warlocks, the bards and druids, all wielding Mystra’s power in their own way. I wanted to be one of Mystra’s spell casters more than anything I had ever wanted.
In my early teens, I went to the wizard’s college in Waterdeep where I was sharply rejected because I wasn’t smart enough. Druids turned my request away saying that I couldn’t learn the “true way” of the druid spirit. What is the true way if not for Mystra? I lacked the outgoing nature to be a bard’s apprentice, though I love to listen to the lore they convey. I had even tried once to be an old hermit wizard’s apprentice … he threw me out within a month.
I searche and researched for the way to use the Art that the Mistress had given the world to no avail when one day, while praying at a shrine to the Mother of Magic, I struck up a conversation with an acolyte of Mystra. She told me that it was not necessary to be a mage to serve as acolyte. Her name was Ahna. I joined the Church of Mystra at the House of Wonders that very day. That was three years ago. My friend Ahna was sent to serve at Baldur’s Gate. They are lucky to have such a devoted.
Last night I had a terrible dream that the Mistress had been wounded and was in need of help. When I woke, I went straight to the church elders … there was a small line of priests already there waiting. Some of them had similar dreams. This was not a good sign.
The elders met and spoke to each of us privately. As the others emerged, they ran quickly to pack and leave for destinations such as Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter, Luskan and Secomb. It was my turn.
After what seemed like an eternity of silence broken only by whispers between the elders, I was told that nature and magic were becoming out of balance, others had seen signs and portents of a great disaster drawing closer. It was important to send a healer, not to protect and heal the actual body of Mystra, but those drawn to do just that. I am to go to Red Larch and seek the likely and unlikely warriors of this battle and protect them.
